Lloyd was known to invariably sign and date his work and inscribe it “Ellesmere,” where he was from in Shropshire, England. The Chetwynd Park estate, also located in Shropshire, can be traced back to the Domesday records, then held by the Earl of Merica, husband of the legendary Lady Godiva. Mr. Ingram was farm bailiff to B. Borough of Chetwynd Park.
