George Claxton

(American, 1947-1995)

Claxton arrived in Lexington, Kentucky, after graduating summa cum laude in Fine Art at Kent State University in 1973. Being both a painter and sculptor, he soon found himself established in the local artist colony. His expressive use of color and texture mark his innovative painting style, and his knowledge of anatomy and form compliment both his porcelain and bronze sculptural technique.
