Pg. 153.Personal Ensign retired undefeated with 13 wins, the longest win streak for a horse at the top level of American racing in 80 years. Her win in the 1988 Breeders' Cup Distaff over Kentucky Derby winner Winning Colors is considered one of the most memorable performances in Breeders' Cup history. She also won the Frizette Stakes, Beldame Stakes, and Whitney Handicap (beating the boys) among others. Retired after her Breeders' Cup win to Claiborne Farm, she had as much success as a broodmare and was named 1996 Kentucky Broodmare of the Year.
